More About our Blessing of the Backpacks

Join us this Sunday, August 11 for Bible study at 9 and worship at 10. This week's worship is led by liturgist George Fritsma and our Pastor, Dr. James D. McLeod. Dr. McLeod's sermon title is Unseen, But There based on Genesis 15 and Hebrews 11. Click or tap the citations if you'd like to read these passages in advance. Our own Carl Martin provides a favorite anthem, It Is Well With My Soul.

Today during worship we offer the Blessing of the Backpacks. All students regardless of age or school are invited to bring their backpacks to this special service. Join us as we ask God's blessing on the backpacks, the learning they represent, and the precious souls who carry them. We are especially privileged as we will be joined by children and staff from the Presbyterian Home for Children.

Following August 11 worship we unite in a celebratory luncheon as we fellowship with the PHFC children. Please bring your favorite dish to share.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 25 at 9 AM. Breakfast is followed by our Rally Day celebration where you will learn about our new Fall activities. On that Sunday we resume our customary schedule with Bible study at 9:30 and worship at 11. On that day also we will bring our TEAM offering and enjoy a 3 PM Genesis Gallery reception featuring Doug Bryant and his “Alabama Roads and Side Streets” exhibit. Please see our web site, CSPChurch.org for additional learning, fellowship, and service opportunities.

The peace of Christ be with you!
