The Fourth Sunday in Advent: "Do Not Be Afraid"

Join us December 20 for our celebration of the fourth Sunday of Advent. Our leaders are David Perry, liturgist, Rev. Dr. James D. [Jamie] McLeod, preaching, and Joe Carter, music. Jamie's sermon title is "Do Not be Afraid." Rosemary and John Holcomb light the Candle of Love. Click for Sunday's worship bulletin: Bulletin-12-20-20.pdf. Worship in person, live-streamed at 11 on YouTube, or on our Facebook page any time after 1 PM Sunday.

Following worship, the Presbyterian Women meet for a Christmas luncheon and Bible study. Liz Hughins leads us in Lesson 4 of Into the Light, finding Hope Through Prayers of Lament by P. Lynn Miller. Soup and sides will be provided.

Please consider a contribution for "Lift Up," our pastoral discretion fund for members in need. In addition, a second fund is available to enable the Congregational Care committee to provide food for those in need during illness, hospitalization, or bereavement. To contribute to the pastoral fund, please indicate "Lift Up" on your check. To contribute to the food fund, indicate "Congregational Care Illness-Bereavement." Thank you for meeting these critical needs in this holiday season.

Drop by Sunday or any time Monday–Thursday to visit our art collections. The Cahaba Lily Gallery features the artistry of Kathleen Stack and the Genesis Gallery features photographer Jeff Newman, whose perspective documents industrial Birmingham and surrounding cities.

Join us for our Christmas Eve worship Thursday, Dec 24, 6–7.

We wish you the peace of our Lord in this holiday season.
