A note from Pastor deNay:
Greetings Cahaba Springs Family! I hope you had a fun and safe July 4th. If you are like me, you probably ate too much, but it was worth it. This Sunday we will be continuing our journey through Matthew’s Gospel and I will be preaching on Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30. We will be focusing on verses 28-30: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” What heavy burdens are you carrying? I hope you will join us, in person or online, as we look to God to relieve our burdens and give us rest. In addition to our worship service, join us for our intergenerational Church School class which is discussing The Way Back to Mayberry, Lessons From a Simpler Time. This class meets at 9:30 in Harmony Hall and is open to all ages. A special thank you to Joe and Kay Carter for leading us through our Service of Hymns for the Lord’s Day last Sunday. Joe and Kay will be off this Sunday for a well-deserved rest. Remember, I am in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays. Please feel free to stop by and say hello, or schedule a time to chat. Peace, deNay
