Cahaba Springs members and friends, join us in person or online for worship on Sunday, Rally Day, July 30 at 11 led by liturgist Karen O'Brien and pastor deNay Kirkpatrick. Our children's choral anthem is "Peace Like a River." Our first lesson is from Psalm 105 and our gospel reading is from Matthew 13.

A note from Pastor deNay:
Dear Cahaba Springs Family and Friends:
I hope all are keeping well and staying cool during these dog days of summer. It’s hard to imagine that we are already making plans for the fall with new Sunday School classes, blessings for a new school year, and a Rally Day breakfast. Join us Sunday as we celebrate the beginning of the new Christian Education and school year. At 9:30 there will be a breakfast and an opportunity to learn about the wonderful Christian Education opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year. There will be opportunities for adults and children, including a wonderful new curriculum for our youngest disciples called Growing in Grace and Gratitude: (from the product overview) “Children nurtured in the love and grace of God learn the story of who and whose they are by watching, listening, tasting, smelling, playing, and exploring holy things in the context of a faith community that will help transform the lives of the youngest among us and those who love them, shaped by grace and gratitude.”
At 11:00 we will have worship, during which time we will have a special blessing from our children who will sing Peace Like a River, followed by a blessing of the backpacks for our children and youth and for children at the Presbyterian Home for Children. We will also have a report from our youth who attended the Montreat Middle School Conference. But before we completely let go of summer, we need to have Vacation Bible School. On Saturday, July 29th, from 1-5 we will be hosting an intergenerational Vacation Bible School: “Soul Food”. We will have games, songs, bible stories, and crafts for all ages as we learn about the connection between food and our daily walk as Christians. Come join us! There are great things happening here at Cahaba Springs and I hope you will make plans to attend these special events. Stay cool and well-hydrated, and check on your elderly neighbors during this heat spell. I hope to see all of you at worship Sunday - either in person or online. Come home to Cahaba Springs! Peace, deNay
